It is often difficult to find a book that will appeal to your child; particularly if they are a reluctant reader. Here are some links to websites that can help you find that special book! I have also included a Google Doc with my book recommendations.

This website is not only a place to go if you want to get ideas on how to foster a love of reading in your children, but you can also search for suggested titles for different age groups. The site has been created by the Penguin Random House Company.

Even though this site is for purchasing books, it enables you to search for 'What's Hot' in children's literature and even has a Kids' Reading Guide section.

This is an excellent site to go to for book reviews and recommendation lists.

YOUR CHILD'S WELLBEING:

ONLINE AND BOOK RESOURCES FOR PARENTS

This link takes you to a blog: "a resource for parents, educators, grandparents, aunts, uncles and anyone who loves and nurtures a child—so the books we choose are user friendly, with an end in mind."

Don't forget, you can see if the Mount Scopus Primary Learning Resource Centres have the book you decide upon, by using the link to our catalogue, Oliver, on the Home page.

This site gives you access to lists of books. Such lists as:

  •            Books that Promote a Healthy Body Image.

  •            50 Books All Kids Should Read Before They're 12.

  •            Books For Reluctant Readers.
